Stories from the Loop

Thank you for providing us with stories from the Cultural Loop area of Delray Beach.  Please tell us one or more stories from your personal experience or historic knowledge.

Purpose: 

1.      To gather personal Delray Beach stories about things that happened in the loop area that related to national events, changes and attitudes during the last 100 years.  For example:  As a child in the 1950s, I convinced my grandmother in this house to attend the Voter’s League and then register to vote.

2.      Gather direct history about past use of places on the Loop.  For example: City Hall is on the old high school football field that was shared with both Carver and Seacrest.  Another – Mr. Jones lives lived here in the 1940s and he was ……………
